With deforestation and illegal logging being key themes at this years UN Environment Assembly, BlackBridge were a key presence and showcased their RapidEye satellite GIS technology to a delegation that included over 180 ministers.

BlackBridge’s RapidEye products offer imagery collected from a constellation of five Earth Observation satellites, imaging up to five million square kilometers of earth every day, adding over one billion square kilometers of imagery to its archive every year.

From natural disaster damage observation to change detection, there are numerous ways that RapidEye imagery is supporting environmental monitoring. RapidEye has generated coverages of several countries currently participating in the REDD+ initiative including Guyana, Nepal, and Mexico.

Whether identifying which areas are forested or tracking the change of forested land over multiple years, RapidEye is the perfect imagery product for REDD+ and many other environmental applications.

BlackBridge were a key partner of Climate Action's Sustainable Innovation Expo 2014 that ran alongside UNEA from 23-27 June at the headquarters of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEP). The exhibition provided a platform for 13 companies to showcase the latest most innovative technologies that are driving sustainability and the green economy.
