Ambassador Espinosa’s broad perspective, convening power, ability to build bridges with disparate parties and trusted relationships with influential global players enables her to find solutions to the most difficult situations. Actions that contribute to a more sustainable and safer world for everyone. For over 40 years she’s worked at the highest levels of diplomacy, multilateral negotiations and international relations. She’s experienced on both the national and the international stage and brings these perspectives to projects relating to sustainability, green growth, multilateralism, environmental stewardship, gender equality, and the protection of human rights.

The Clean Power Taskforce is focused on turning ambition into action, driving practical implementation to achieve the goal of tripling the global renewable power capacity by 2030. Bringing together leaders from business, government, academia, research, and NGOs and IGOs, the Taskforce will identify and promote solutions that break down barriers, accelerate deployment, and scale impact.

Ambassador Patricia Espinosa, former Executive Secretary of UNFCCC:

"It is a great pleasure to join the Climate Action Coalition as co-chair of the Clean Power Taskforce. Strong collaboration will be imperative for meeting the goals of the Paris Agreement, the overarching mission of the Climate Action Coalition. Expansion of renewable energy will play a large role in this, in particular the targets set out for 2030 in the UAE Consensus. By uniting expertise, we can turn commitments into impactful solutions that accelerate the energy transition in a just, orderly, and equitable manner across the world. I look forward to working alongside Chris and the Coalition’s members on this important initiative."

The Rt Hon Chris Skidmore OBE, Chair, Climate Action Coalition:

“I am delighted that Ambassador Patricia Espinosa will be joining the Coalition to lead on our Clean Power Taskforce as a pioneering climate leader with a wealth of experience in international relations. Her deep understanding of multilateralism’s vital role in tackling the global climate crisis—shaped by her leadership as COP16 President and Executive Secretary of the UNFCCC—makes her an invaluable force in driving greater global alignment towards a clean energy future.”
