Bahrain’s sustainable development projects

HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister of Bahrain, has inaugurated the Khalifa Grand Park in Riffa which embodies the attention on the part of HRH to sustainable urban development all over the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The basic features of the work of HRH the Prime Minister in building Bahrain's renaissance and his aspirations, is the focal point of all development efforts and whence this farsightedness comes HRH's support to development projects in all villages and cities in the Kingdom. The construction of public parks and gardens has been accorded ample share of attention as HRH has always been keen on instructing the essential construction of similar parks and gardens in every region of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The government's action plan, led by HRH the Prime Minister include an integrated strategic plan for afforestation, aesthetic landscaping and green patches in all parts of the Kingdom. More than 120 public parks and gardens have already been constructed all over the governorates in addition to a series of construction projects underway in which it has been observed that they should satisfy the housing, urbanization needs in each region.

The most paramount accomplishments of the government action plan included the inauguration of the Prince Khalifa bin Salman Park located in Al-Hidd, Al-Hunainiyyah Park and Ain Adhari Park and completion of Al-Salmaniyyah Park and Andalusia Park as well as various public parks in the various governorates nationwide which in turn play a great role in activation of tourism influx into the Kingdom in view of the Kingdom of Bahrain's potentials and relative advantages which attract large numbers of visitors and tourists from the region.

For this purpose, the government led by HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister has placed sustainable development plans amongst its top priorities and set up a bundle of integrated programs aimed at raising the standard of citizen's living in terms of education, healthcare and social welfare as an embodiment of its vision that citizens constitute the sinews and prime goal behind any development plan.

The government has also paid a lot of attention to environmental issues and endorsed a number of resolutions and procedures aimed at the protection and maintenance of the environment on land, at sea and in the air through modernization of the industrial sector making it securer and safer and protecting the environment from harmful emissions.

Also, the government initiated a series of steps aimed at conservation of wildlife through taking care of natural sanctuaries, monitoring the performance of all entities in order to ensure their compliance in their projects and mechanism with environmental laws.

The mammoth achievements accomplished by the government presided over by HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, has contributed into realizing a typical transformation in all walks of life in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The prime pillar and key goal behind all government-sponsored policies and plans aim at the realization of citizens' aspirations and requirements.
