Pollen Bee Habitat to address crisis of bee population in UK

There is a crisis developing with the population of bees in the UK and companies and organisations have a new opportunity to effectively address the issue. Last year some beekeepers experienced from 30-100% loss of their honey bees. Wild bees (pollen bees) also experienced huge losses which are being attributed to habitat loss due to human activities and developments. All have contributed to the decline of the bee population and assistance is clearly needed to help pollinate our crops, plants and trees.

Pollen bees habitating in cavities above ground are the most vulnerable to predators and weather and a new habitat design from City Rainforest addresses these problems. The habitat is weatherproof and the interior ground, volcanic rockfiller around the habitat tubes acts as a desiccant to remove unwanted moisture from the bee cells during their development. It also insulates the habitats in extreme temperatures. The molded, waterproof baffles at the front of the habitat tubes prevent destruction of the tubes by birds or rodents and they also keep the cardboard cell tubes spaced in the granular filler. The rain resistant tubular plastic body keeps all the components dry and secure.

Each habitat comes with self adhesive discs to cover the habitat tube ends as they become filled. These inexpensive habitats will help to improve your garden and the environment and are officially approved by The International Xerces Society for the Conservation of Pollinators.

Features include:
• Domestic plant list to attract
pollen bees
• Water repellant, rigid construction
• Includes a card so that the number of
habitat tubes filled can be recorded
• Comes with self adhesive discs to
cover the habitat tube ends as they
become filled
• Shipped fully assembled in a
recycled box
