Sustainable Investment Forum

Financing Innovation for Climate Action
20 September 2016 | New York City

What Is It All About?

The Paris agreement has now been signed, uniting 195 countries in a binding agreement to limit global warming to under 2C. Global governments are now charged with moving further and faster than ever before to tackle climate change, creating an unstoppable transition to a low carbon economy to end the fossil fuel age. $100 billion has been committed to financing such climate action in developing countries, creating new opportunities for sustainable innovation and collaboration.

Whilst the agreement has brought greater market certainty for investors, there remains many questions around the path that such action will take to ensure a break away from traditional growth.

National and regional governments, international financiers and private sector companies will need to work together like never before to develop meaningful policies around carbon pricing, effective public- private funding mechanisms and low carbon innovation. Otherwise, the opportunity presented by the Paris agreement will be missed.

To catalyze the relationships needed, the Sustainable Investment Forum will unite 200 stakeholders including national government, international financiers, private industry, carbon traders and city leaders for a day of high level action and debate as part of New York Climate Week.

This one day meeting will unite 30 top speakers to explore key topics:
