Facilitating the reuse of resources for a decarbonized society - Aluminium recycling

About this report

LIXIL’s new report highlights trends and efforts in aluminium recycling, crucial for decarbonization. Using recycled aluminium reduces CO₂ emissions by 97% compared to new ingots, though collection and sorting are challenging. In 2019, 34% of global aluminium production was from recycled scrap, expected to match new ingot production by 2050. Japan aims for 50% recycled aluminium by 2050. LIXIL, with 25 years of expertise, achieved a 78% recycled aluminium rate in its products and targets 100% by March 2031. LIXIL leads in recycling, aiming to reduce environmental impact and grow its business.
